A human-damaging fly that catches such large fish that the fisherman is in immediate danger is named after its author, Sigurður Pálsson. Weather that is true or not the one thing is certain, this fly is extremely effective and has been at the front of anglers’ boxes since it began its unnamed career in Laxa in Dolum.
The fly got its name in 2004 after catching a 23-pound sea run trout in Litlua in North Iceland. The Dyrbitur or The Animal Biter fly [began] its actual journey and historic career as one of the country’s main all-round flies in Litlua in North Iceland in May 2004 when it caught the second largest freshwater fish of the year in Iceland, which was also the largest fly-fished sea run trout in Europe and received its name from the author on the same day.
This fly is an absolute must in the box and comes in many different colors.
