The main food source of trout are buzzers/chronomids. When buzzers ascend from the lake bed to the water surface before hatching they almost always find themselves stuck in the surface film. During this time they are very vulnerable to feeding fish and often trout gorge themselves on such easy pickings. This minimalist representation of the black buzzer performs perfectly in such conditions and is often fished best singularly to rising or cruising fish. This fly has generous amounts of wild CDC in the wing which will ensure both great float-ability and visibility.
The body is varnished and finished with a flex-floss rib to give a natural looking segmentation which ensures the surface film is cut and the fly is cocked.
